World's Most Tattooed Woman Julia Gnuse

Julia Gnuse was known as the world's most tattoeed woman, she also listed on the Guinness Book of records as Most tattoed woman in america where 95% of her body was covered by a tattoo. all of her tattoo was made by the same artist. at first she tattooed her body to cover her scarring because of her skin disorder.

American Julia Gnuse has covered her body in ink. Among the tattoos, you can find jungle scenes, her favourite actors and Disney cartoon characters.

But it wasn’t in the name of art that she started tattooing herself, it was because of her skin condition, called porphyria, which gave her blisters when her skin was exposed to sunlight.

To mask her scarring, she first tried tattooing her skin the same color to the scarring that she had, but it didn’t match her pale-looking skin. That’s when she tried colorful tattoos and got hooked up.

This addiction of hers lead her right into a Guinness World Record for “the American who has been named the most tattooed woman in the world.” don't forget to check another bizarre tattoo such as the eye tattoo and tongue tattoo on this crazy world.

here's the picture of Julie Gnuse the Woman with the most tattoo in the world.

McQueen's Kaleidoscope of Prints (London, UK)

As some may know, I'm a huge fan of Alexander McQueen and while my visit to his London flagship in February coincided with his untimely passing, my last trip to the boutique in April was far less sombre. One of the reasons was that the once blackened store windows were replaced with an incredible array of colors and prints taken from the current season collection. Though the digital prints have proved to be a huge hit and I had been eyeing them in various editorials and a few retail spaces before, these displays blew my mind. Nothing compares to seeing the amazing pieces in person. Oh, and the icing on the cake? A pair of the crazy runway shoes was on display as well, though unfortunately not available in store to try on...

alexander mcqueen londonAccessories taken from both windows include the snakeskin 'De-Manta' clutch and the Knuckle-Duster clutch.

alexander mcqueen londonMore prints, as seen in-store, such as the moth design (top), mantis print (bottom left & middle) and the butterfly print (bottom right).

alexander mcqueen londonFor a more nautical theme, the jellyfish and pixelated jellyfish print are the perfect choice.

Though it saddens me to think these are part of McQueen's last full collection we'll ever see, I'm glad that Sarah Burton has just been named the new Creative Director of the fashion house. Considering she managed to complete most of the incredible FW10 pieces, I'm confident she'll manage to incorporate his vision in future collections, despite the fact that no one will ever come close to replacing him.

Acne (Stockholm, Sweden)

acne store stockholm
The first big fashion destination I could think of in anticipation of visiting Sweden was 'Acne'. I've always loved their minimalist cool looks and let's face it, those insane wedges from the current season are still the talk of town (though quite frankly not really my taste). Add in yet another wonderful denim collaboration with Lanvin and you end up with a Swedish brand that trumps most international offerings.

Coming from an advertising world, what fascinated me the most about this brand (which derives its name from 'Ambition to Create Novel Expressions') was that the company started out as an ad agency only to evolve into a creative collective that today includes everything from Acne Film to Acne Paper (an independent magazine). The quest to help others build their own brands was linked to their own ambition to create a lifestyle label which initially resulted in a small collection of jeans that was distributed primarily to friends and clients. The denim gear ended up being featured in Swedish Elle which lead to a surge in popularity and soon stores all over the country were requesting stock. A full collection was finally launched in 1998 and over a decade later, the label can be found globally with 16 flagships in nine countries.

acne fashion stockholmOverview of the flagship's front area (top image: Acne). Simple decor allowed for easy browsing...

Things only got better once I arrived in Stockholm and my clever guidebook informed me that the biggest Acne flagship actually had historic value. The location at Normalmstorg isn't just any old shop but the former site of Kreditbanken, a bank where in 1973 the term 'Stockholm Syndrome' was coined after a heist resulted in two armed robbers taking four employees hostage for five days. By the end of it all, the hostages became emotionally attached to their captors and rumor has it that a few years after Acne moved in, one of the former bank robbers requested to see the storeroom for old time's sake. My guess was that he just wanted a pair of free jeans, but either way, the brand has one hell of an impressive venue which still includes remnants of the old bank including the grand marble pillars.

acne fashion stockholmThe shoe area towards the entrance (left) featuring more unique footwear including this lace-up wedge.

acne fashion stockholmMost items were simple and unfussy with the exception of key statement pieces, such as the studded vest.

Just like the luxurious yet simple clothes, the interiors combine a certain sophistication (thanks to the old bank architecture) with stark simplicity. Initially there isn't that much decor to distract you. A few glass and wooden shelves display the shoes, including the very funky three-heeled stilettos. The bright and airy front area houses the majority of the women's RTW line, which aside from a few key statement pieces is generally subtle, understated and meant to form a capsule wardrobe that won't compete with other items in the collection. As Creative Director Jonny Johansson described “Fashion is the best form of self-expression. We like to design pieces that together form the coolest wardrobe, but is ultimately wearable. It becomes one way of thinking as individual pieces, but together creates a strong, modern and considered statement."

acne fashion stockholmA replica vault door and some of the more precious items including the black wedge made famous by Alexa Chung.

acne fashion stockholmOverview of the store's middle section with its imposing marble pillars (top image: Acne). This is where the mainline men's collection is housed.

Not to be missed is the ultimate 'It-Shoe' of the season, though I don't quite understand why it needed it's own glass case (considering the Paris store just has it lying around) and a rack displaying the current Lanvin collaboration. The vault-door added a nice touch as well, but for the ultimate bank heist experience, the main jeans area is where you need to go. Surrounded by marble arches, the middle section contains the majority of the menswear items, which to be honest, I ignored a little, as I was trying too hard to imagine how the interiors used to look like.

acne fashion stockholmThe former vaults of the bank are now home to a huge assortment of jeans (top image: Acne). Modern changing rooms (lower left) blend in with the grand architecture.

acne fashion stockholmHad enough of clothes? Grab a book... or perhaps a toy animal?

Finally, the heart of the store is the jeans area, which is where the former vaults used to be. Instead of money and valuables, stacks of denim in sky-high book shelves take up the entire center of the room, while t-shirts and jackets, many from the casual 'Pop' line, are displayed on racks towards the side and back. You'll find both men's and women's wear here, so check carefully. This is also where I sighted some of the more interesting props, including a retro bike, large mirrors supported by silver globes, not to mention the random assortment of books and trinkets in the shelves. If you can resist the temptation of the clothes, this is also the best place to take in the impressive Roman-inspired architecture with yet more pillars and engravings along the wall.

acne fashion stockholmLarge mirrors and iron racks give the space an industrial vibe.

acne fashion stockholmDon't attempt to get the jeans yourself. Even the staff needs a ladder and a stick (left). And the retro bike as the perfect accessory (right).

If you don't get a chance to hop on a plane to Sweden anytime soon, fear not, Acne can be found internationally and better yet, they have an official online store. If you do visit, you'll find numerous so-called Acne Studios around town including an outlet outside the city. But I'd definitely recommend the largest flagship - you can even get away with telling your partner it's a tourist attraction (yes, I might have tricked mine...). And in its current state, I'm sure most people wouldn't mind being locked in there for a few days...

Japanese Couples wed by Robots

There's a bizarre stuff in this wedding ceremony, this Japanese couple wed by a robot?? but how come a robot could take the priest place as the one who led the wedding ceremony? well this might be one example of the advance technology and robotic technology. Before this we have post about several bizarre wedding such as the Gothic wedding and also the body modification lover wedding ceremony. check this out about the Japanese couple who wed by a robot.

Satoko Inoue and Tomohiro Shibata bothe looked amazing on their wedding day, but the spotlight was stolen by i-Fairy, the humanoid robot that replaced the priest.

Inoue, the bride, works for the company that produces the i-Fairy robot, and Shibata is a client, so it’s safe to say robots are the reason they began dating in the first place. At his beloved’s suggestion, the groom was more than happy to replace the priest with an adorable robot that rose to the challenge, thanks to some special programming.

The bride said she always felt like robots could play a big role in people’s lives, and she’s glad her experience showed the whole world just that. Representatives of the company that makes i-Fairy said they’re thrilled one of their products was the center of attention in the first wedding presided over by a robot.

Impressions of Stockholm (Sweden)

I'm finally back from Stockholm and of course I can't wait to share my impressions of the city with you. This was my first real visit to Sweden and the trip was part of a gift from the hubby for my birthday (which was last Saturday). Since this country has given us everything from ABBA to Ikea, I had quite high expectations and Stockholm didn't disappoint: the air was fresh, the people were friendly and there really is an H&M on every single street corner...

The city itself comprises of 14 islands and is beautiful, simply because you're constantly surrounded by water and greenery. I can safely say that Swedish tap water is the best I've ever tasted. My favorite past-time - aside from shopping of course, which I'll get to later - was walking among the 18th century buildings and admiring the architecture. As with all Scandinavian countries, locals were exceptionally helpful and spoke English fluently. The one thing I found slightly odd was that chewing moist tobacco seems to be a big thing there, even among teenagers. And my only gripe? The 25% VAT... ouch. Definitely one of the more expensive cities, so if you ever plan on visiting, start saving now.
