Special Wedding on The air

These newlyweds are joining the mile high club ... in front of all their family and friends.

Jiang Dezhang (R), 27, kisses his bride Tie Guangju, 26, while rappelling from a building during their wedding ceremony in Kunming, China,

Well, here’s one of my recurring nightmares. Not getting married - that was great - but standing out on the ledge of a tall building. I’d rather ride in a gyrocopter, or visit that new Grand Canyon skywalk.

Anyway, these two people both work as exterior cleaners of tall buildings, so they decided to incorporate rappelling into their ceremony, because like they don’t get enough of that on regular days. You’ll note in the caption below we’re careful to mention that the groom is the one on the right, just in case you’re confused about which is which.

Anyway, I’ve avoided using most of the tempting references - marriage is a big step, they don’t rappel each other, and so on,

Centipede King Boonthawee Seangwong and Scorpion Queen Kanjana Kaetkeow - have tied the knot in a "Believe It Or Not" ceremony that included six other ghoulish couples.

Marking Valentine's Day in morbid style, seven couples decked out as corpses, took part in a traditional Thai wedding ceremony - complete with chanting Buddhist monks and the pouring of lustral water on the hands of the newlyweds - sponsored by Ripley's Believe It Or Not Haunted House attraction at Pattaya beach resort.

The star couple of the unusual nuptials were Kanjana, 36, who entered the Guinness Book of World Records in 2002 for spending 32 days in a glass cube with 3,400 scorpions, and Boonthawee, 29, a 2003 Guinness record holder for spending 28 days with 1,000 centipedes.

"We met and fell in love at a snake farm in Samui Island where we were both performing," Kanjana said.

"We've done plenty of strange things before so a strange wedding sounded fun, and besides Ripley's is paying for it," she said.

All the romantic newlyweds will spend their first night of matrimonial bliss sleeping together in a coffin at Ripley's Haunted House.

"It's like being reborn again, and I hope it means we'll have a long life together," said Kanjana of her upcoming wedding night.

Royal Garden Entertainment, the owner-operator of the Royal Garden Hotel and Ripley's Believe It Or Not complex in Pattaya, has vowed to make the Valentine's necro-nuptials an annual affair.

"This year we have such lovely couples, I expect we will have more lovely couples and more variety next year," said Somporn Naksuetrong, general manager of Royal Garden Entertainment.

Kanjana Ketkaew, 35, with scorpions on her gown, kisses her groom Bunthawee Sengwong, 29, with a centipede in his mouth, during their wedding ceremony on Valentine's Day in the Thai resort town of Pattaya, about 130 km (80 miles) southeast of Bangkok February 14, 2006.

Lanvin October Windows (Paris, France) & Awards

I'd like to thank everyone for the comments in the last post - I'm feeling much better now (although there's something to be said about lying on the couch all day). Anyway, I haven't done one of my beloved Lanvin posts in ages and if you're new to this blog, you'll quickly realize that the Lanvin boutique goes out of its way to display something out of the ordinary. Please click here to see some of their previous visual wonders. I'm way behind in posting these, because as I'm typing, newer (more Halloween related) windows are already up.

These windows may not be as exciting to some, because the usual dramatic mannequin poses have been replaced by something else. This time the windows were created in collaboration with Jean Yves and Tania & Vincent, who were in charge of the photography and installation. From what I can gather, the whole concept behind these windows is to demonstrate the importance of technology and how much people rely on photos, videos and other digital media to communicate with each other. The usual mannequin heads have been covered by giant posters of 'real' people or replaced with LCD monitors showing pre-recorded video footage of people talking, while various digital screens displayed random snippets of conversations.

Keeping your vehicle protected

Automobile guarantee

Being a driver I always wonder why there is no escape from paying hundreds ad hundreds of dollars on a car? Sometimes it seems to not matter what type of car you own, the design or the brand, the year or manufacturing country - you will always end up paying more than you were supposed to from the beginning. Why are the insurance policy ratings constantly increasing and when is it going to stop? The answer is - never. With the amount of accidents that take place today it is impossible to lower premiums on your insurance as insurance companies need to solve these problems somehow.

So what can we possibly do to help to keep the rates at a low point? What rule do we need to read? What types of sites do we need to visit?

First of all, no sites and books will give you any low premiums when the situation is drastic. The first factor that we need to consider is our driving record. We won't ever deny the fact that a good driving record helps. If your driving record in unpleasant, let's say it is simply bad, there is a possibility that insurers will not want to work with you under preferable conditions, which means their rates will be hiked up. If your driving record is simply poor - it is not that big of a deal. All you have to do is take the classes the state has to offer and lower the points on your driving license. You might want to check if you state has this type of program before you get too content about it.

The second point to consider is the safety features of the car. When people think of buying a car they usually rank it as a number one priority as your car may fall into a category that might cost you a fortune.

If you are an owner of a brand new sports car, don't be surprised to find out you have to pay extra or more than your friends have to pay. Sports automobile is in the risky car group which means the risk of an accident on the road is much higher than it would be having a simple family car. Insurance companies pay lots of attention to those autos that have some safety features, like anti-lock brakes, airbags, alarm, etc. So if you want your insurance premium decreased please consider having safety features in your car too.

If you policy has no lapse in it, it might help your premiums as well. If your history is perfect and you are famous for being on time with your payments, it is definite advantage. Try to not make any cancellations or miss any duty payments ever. Good loyal and reliable clients usually get good discounts from the auto insurance companies.

And the last but not the least is that most insurers nowadays want to know if you have ever been involved in a conflict with any insurance companies. They are curious about it as many costumers are filling in the claims against insurance companies and this factor can affect your premiums in a way that the insurance company will raise them due to a high risk of being sued by you in the future.

We want to let you know that there is plenty of information about car insurance online. Auto insurance quotes can be easily found and the information provided on the sites can be used as a starting point. Please get the update on auto insurance quotes weekly when you are about to get insured. It is important you stay updated.

Keeping your business protected from external risks

You are prosperous and you feel like the world is at your feet. Yes, many of us want to believe we own the success and we stand behind it alone. But in reality, there are people standing behind our back that are involved in our rises and falls. These people are the employees. Therefore you need to think of them as a part of your team that was there to get you to the top of the world. You should know your staff needs a reward. But how could you possibly reward them? If your company takes care of more than two but less than 50 people, there is an insurance that works for you and your business. It is very valuable when people that run the business for you are proficient employees who are in charge of their duties. But no matter what happens in the companies, no matter how many mistakes one can make, because we are only human after all, the staff needs to feel like they are cared even when they fail, as it can happen to anyone.

The "cream" off the top of the Policy

Right before you head into the office of the insurance company and put your signature somewhere get yourself together and remind yourself why you are there. Make a list of questions you need to ask before you sign anything. Make sure all the answers satisfy you. It is preferable to show up with statistics about the staff you want to insure, gather all of the important information on them that is necessary to apply for the coverage. Remember to introduce the slightest details and help the insurer to collect all the fact as accurately as possible.

There are certain discounts and special offers that the business insurance allows you to take advantage of. They are the following:

  • Medical assistance. The insurance will take care of all the events that would involve you or any member of your team getting hurt.
  • Tax-free options. All the co-workers have a possibility to economize some money on taxes and some special payments.
  • Low payments. If you are the owner of a small enterprise - small business insurance will cost you less than other policies would normally cost you if purchased separately. Therefore it always makes sense to shop around some more instead of jumping on the first opportunity you see.

So now you know what it takes to show your employees you are willing to give them something in return for the work they do. By giving your employees a chance to feel protected and concerned about you are raising the company's prestige and the desire of the employed to work better. There is nothing more valuable than a company that treats their workers will respect, love and care. There isn't a better boss than the one that makes sure people who work for him are healthy and content. Business insurance is a good investment and a wise decision. Please use Internet sites to receive quotes and email the company you want to trust with any questions that may arise. Helpful insurance assistants will be at your service 24 hours a day.

Getting good insurance for a good car

Good car, good owner, good insurance

If you care about your car enough to get it insured it means your car is lucky to have a good owner. A good car owner won't trust his car to any place there is. A good car owner will shop around for the best possible rate and a best possible company. There is a variety of companies you can find by clicking the sites everyday. Most of them offer quotes to inform potential costumers about services the company is willing to grant and their conditions. Prices may be different but it all depends on lots of factors. Remember that your car is individual and that is how insurers see it as well. When you are to obtain a quote, please be as precise as possible. Having a good driving record, good credit history, low mileage, location of vehicle, safety features on a vehicle as well as other important details will help you get your payment reduced. But don't think the price can only go lower. It is absolutely not true. If you took part in an accident, if you credit score is poor, if you are known to miss payments and high mileage, the insurer has a full right to raise your payments on premiums.

If you are to get a quote from internet, it is important to acquire enough coverage. Acquiring sufficient coverage is important when applying for an online quote. There are case when an automobile is totaled the amount between payoff on the loan and the value paid by the insurer is less. Gap insurance will cover the sum between the payoff and what the insurance pays, if there is one. When you apply for a coverage quote online there is a good chance to know how it may be in the future for you. So it is always wise to read reviews and request the policy quotes before you actually apply for insurance. Do not be afraid to email your questions to the website if you have any doubts. It won't hurt anybody.

If you have a driving experience and it is clear, you might be able to obtain lower sums on a quote. But what do e actually mean hen we say "a good driver"? What type of driver deserves a discount and lower premiums? Here are some of the major hints: A good driver will not get his eyes off the road. A good driver will not smoke or talk on the phone while driving. He won't consume any alcohol before driving. A good driver will never rush on the road enough to make his speed go crazy. A good driver will not drive when the light is red. A good driver will avoid the accidents and be attentive no matter who is in the car with him. A good driver will pay his checks on time and won't miss any set dates. Car insurance quotes will definitely be high if the coverage has any gaps. If you are hardly using your car or if you never use your car for purposes other than shopping your premiums will go lower. If you reduce your deductibles, you will be able to economize a little on your car insurance quotes. If you want to make sure you have the best possible deal, please use car insurance websites to receive that information.

Enjoy the Android Phone | Motorola Droid Phone | Google Android 2.0

The Motorola Droid Phone that will be available on the Verizon network by the end of the month will come with the much talked about Google Android 2.0 OS. BGR has already spent a little time with the phone and thought they would offer a mini review; the in-depth review will come later.

The Droid phone has a slim design, although slightly thicker than the iPhone 3GS. However, we have to remember that the Droid does have a QWERTY-slider, making it the thickest handset of its kind. BGR believe that this is the fastest Android smartphone they have used; this surely has something to do with running on Android 2.0 and its TI OMAP3430 processor.

The capacitive display is a dream to use, BGR admit that it is the best screen that they have seen or used on an Android phone. The unit that they have is not final, so its QWERTY keyboard with soft-touch rubberized keys could change in the final production model.

This is the most impressive Google Android phone to-date; Verizon and Motorola have done a great job. The phone will not hurt iPhone 3GS sales, but Apple will now be looking over its shoulder, wondering what the second generation of this phone will be like.
